The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries commissioned me to paint HM The Queen in 2005. I was granted four sittings averaging over one hour each. The sittings took place in the Yellow Drawing Room which is hung with Chinese wallpaper. Two longer visits were arranged so that I could make further studies of the dress, the jewellery and the background. I loved every moment.
